An Earthquake is the number once cause of Tsunamis.Under water earthquakes are the second, and under water land slides is the third. The fourth, last, least common, least likely, and rarest cause is underwater Volcanic eruptions.
On the east side of Japan there was an underwater earthquake which immediately created a tidal wave and hit Japan's east coast without warning. It had created a Tsunami which is now headed in Hawaii's direction. Not only a half an hour ago was it just a watch. Now it's a warning, and we can only wait and listen for the sirens to sound. I only hope it doesn't hit us. Times like these make you miss the mainland. Tsunami warnings are one thing I can live without.
The sirens have started.
Now we can only sit and listen and wait and watch for what is going to happen next. My house is high enough up that I'll be fine. But it still is unsettling.
